| Singapore National Day! |
After five weeks of backpacking - Singapore is feeling pretty damn comfortable. I now take back any snide remarks I might have made on my previous visit... Singapore is clean, convenient, modern, stylish... what a great country. This new found appreciation for my sisters city of residence was much confirmed after tonights Singapore National Day celebration. Singaporeans dressed in red and white took over the city, sounds of "Singapore Idol" filled the streets, a military parade closed off the roads and the country put on hands down, the best fireworks show I've ever seen.
I write this post on a sad note... tomorrow morning the girls head west to LA and then onto Chicago. Tomorrow night I return via the east, to London and then DC. The world is a big place and we are lucky to have the opportunity to travel and see this one small part of it. Even luckier, to be able to experience it together. It's a rare and special thing to have three close friends find this amount of time to make this type of journey.
A few fun facts about our time abroad...
75 - USD Amy bribed the Indonesian customs official with to let her in the country when she didn't have enough blank pages in her passport
47 - flights between the three of us
34 - Asian men who asked us to take a picture with them

London and Paris seems like forever ago but I'm so grateful that I could rally three of my favorites to join me on a little European holiday! Special thanks goes to Deb for the miles, Langkawi, the apartment and being the adventurous sister - if not for Deb I probably couldn't find Singapore on a map ;-) To Amy and Jackie - I can't imagine two better travel companions for this intense and wonderful trip around Asia - after 5 weeks of 24/7, I might be feeling a little lost on my 36 hours of travel home.
I hope you have all enjoyed the blog, it's been a blast to write to you along the way. Namaste!
